Features
We encourage PatchTool users to participate in the ongoing development by relaying any comments/suggestions to us. The main features of version 2.10 are :
- Consistent patch design by storing patch templates in a format relative to sail size.
- Visually verify patches in close-up or "on the sail". Graphical "Quick edit"-tool
- Radial and "stack" patches for the 3 corners of a sail incl. up to 3 reefs. Consisting of up to 21 layers of material, fitted to the corner angles of the sail or any user defined angle.
- Unlimited shaping possibilities on the perimeter of each patch. Line segments, splines or arcs.
- Printout view of sail with patches, patch design or offsets for hand cutting.
- Possibility of wedge-shaped gores to decrease material buildup, individual seamwidth for each gore.
- Reads SmSw design files to obtain measurements, perimeter shapes and sail details.
- Saves to Autometrix .NTV or .NST file formats for automated cutting, or prints to paper for cutting by hand.
- PatchTool has tools for fitting patches to a specific gorewidth(e. g. pre-cut tapes), as well as a tool to force patches to comply to the ISAF(IYRU) or class rules.
Upon request, we will modify PatchTool to support any file format
that we are provided a sufficient description of.
